GreenFest is an annual fun-filled community sustainability celebration hosted by Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful and the City of Statesboro. The event is packed with green exhibits, vendors, and workshops to educate our community about green living.
This is a day with live music, kids' activities, vendors with green products, and sustainable solutions for the whole family. Free workshops are held by Sustain Southern and in partnership with other vendors. Vendors include Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market, DSDA and Georgia Southern Botanic Gardens.
The event promotes overall sustainable living in order to support sustainability.
The goals of the annual GreenFest are:
- Introducing the community to sustainable solutions for life.
- To increase awareness of sustainable products for green living.
- To recognize sustainable and diverse local farms and businesses that support Sustainable Development Goals.
To reach their third goal they would like to invite local businesses from the Blue Mile and Downtown Statesboro Area to participate in GreenFest by becoming a GreenStop.
GreenStops would offer those that attended GreenFest a discount for shopping in their store for the week following the event. This discount is up to the business. The organization asks that businesses ask attendees to show a picture of themselves in attendance at check out to redeem their discount.
