Mrs. Cleaester Mincey Murray, age 83, departed this life, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Helen Mincey.
Mrs. Murray received her formal education in the public school system of Bulloch County and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1955.
After graduation she moved to New Jersey where she attended Saint Peter’s College.
She was employed at Western Electric as an electrical technician. In later years she worked as a private duty nurse.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Murray; two siblings, Melinda Faye Johnson and Rev. Charles Ray Dekle.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Ricardo Lawrence Davis; daughters, Candace (Marcus) Harris and Joanvenessa (Terry) Murray; god children, Tammy and Leslie McDowell, Marjay, Vanchea, Douglas and Mrs. Crump; a brother, Gordon Mincey; a sister, Charlotte Jean (Terry) Joiner; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a god sister, Marilyn (Roosevelt) Martin, special friends, Hazel Lee Allen, Laura (Sherman) Blackwell and Jimmy Wilkins; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Murray will lie in state on the day of service form 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the services.
The funeral service for Mrs. Cleaester Mincey Murray, will be held 12 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, at the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc., with the Rev. Stanley Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church Portal, Georgia.
