VIDEO | Bulloch County NAACP Bulloch Board of Education Forum

Tuesday evening the Bulloch County NAACP hosted the second of two local candidates forums at the Statesboro Inn. Monday night the forum included County Commissioner candidates. Tuesday they featured Bulloch Board of Education candidates.

Tuesday evening the Bulloch County NAACP hosted the second of two local candidates forums at the Statesboro Inn. Monday night the forum included County Commissioner candidates. Tuesday they featured Bulloch Board of Education candidates.

In Bulloch BOE District 5 candidate Shontelle Childress participated. She is challenging Incumbent Glennera Martin who did not participate.

In Bulloch BOE District 6 candidate Mary Boyer participated. She is challenging incumbent Jay Cook who did not participate.

In Bulloch BOE District 5 incumbent April Newkirk and candidate Donna Clifton participated. Candidate Kathy Sherrod did not participate.

In Bulloch BOE District 2 candidate Elizabeth Williams participated. She is running unopposed.

Early voting has began for the primary election which will be held on Tuesday, May 24th. Since the Bulloch County Board of Education is a non-partison race, it will be decided on May 24th unless races with more than two candidates have a runoff.

Early Voting has began

Early voting for the upcoming general primary/non-partisan/special election will begin on Monday, May 2, 2022. The public should be aware of several changes to Georgia voting regulations that are now in place. These changes are the result of Georgia Senate Bill 202, which was passed in 2021.

Bulloch County Elections Supervisor Shontay Jones highlighted the most important changes for Grice Connect readers.
