Statesboro Police Department is excited to announce that they are hosting a Back The Blue 5K during National Police Week this year!

National Police Week is dedicated to honoring America's law enforcement community and also pays special recognition to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Around the country individuals have walked to raise awareness and support of law enforcement and those who have fallen in the line of duty. This event allows everyone in the community to participate by walking or running in a safe environment at Mill Creek Park, instead of on the roadways.

The Statesboro Police Department National Police Week walk and run will take place on the evening of Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at Mill Creek Regional Park.

This is a RUN/WALK 5K. It is perfectly fine if you choose to participate and would rather walk the race instead of run. The walk and race is free to the public and all ages are welcome.

They will begin the line-up based on age groups starting at 8:30 PM. The first wave of runners/walkers will start at approximately 8:45 PM.

This is a great way to come out and support our law enforcement heroes who work to protect our community in extraordinary ways every day and pay special recognition to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
