Bulloch County Sheriff's Office and area law enforcement had been looking for a missing motorcyclist since Saturday night. Mark Lank, 53, of Statesboro, was last seen riding his burgundy Heritage, Harley Davidson motorcycle Saturday night, May 21, 2022, around 7 pm. The last reported sighting of Lank was when he became separated from a friend on another motorcycle he was riding with in Brooklet and had not been seen since.

When he didn't return home and could not be located he was reported as missing with Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

A group of family members and friends met at the Brass Rail in Guyton early Sunday morning and began searching for him. They had received some pings from his cell phone which gave them a general area to search.

At 10:02, Bulloch 911 dispatched Bulloch County EMS and deputies to the sharp curve on the 119 connector near Old River Road south in Bulloch County. The search party located the bike and Mark there.

Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch confirmed that Mark Lank was the missing motorcyclist and was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears that he lost control of the motorcycle Saturday night shortly after separating from his friend and died as a result of the crash.

Mark Lank would have celebrated his 54th birthday on Monday, May 23, 2022.

Georgia State Patrol is in charge of the accident investigation.

Joiner Anderson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Grice Connect extends our condolences to the Lank family and friends.
