Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments along with Georgia Forestry have been busy over the past few days with small fires. High winds and dry conditions have kept fire departments busy with small brush fires that have threatened homes and buildings.
Also on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Fort Stewart was performing prescribed burns which caused heavy smoke to travel into Bulloch County. Many citizens were concerned their had been a major fire, because of the extensiveness of the smoke.
North Edgewood Fire
Bulloch County 911 dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch Fire Departments to North Edgewood Drive in the City at 6:25 pm on Wednesday to a structure fire. When the first engines arrived they determined the fire was contained to an out building, which was heavily involved.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from threatening other structures.
