Ogeechee Area Hospice has received recognition as a 2022 Hospice Honors Elite and staff members Mary Anderson and Liz Hutley each won a $1,000 scholarship from National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and will be going to Maryland to attend the NHPCO 2022 Leadership and Advocacy Conference. They will have all Conference fees paid for, as well as their hotel stay at the all-inclusive Gaylord hotel.  They competed with hospice staff all over the nation for this honor.

Attending an NHPCO conference provides valuable opportunities for attendees to network with colleagues, develop their professional skill sets, and learn notable insights about person-centered care.

Ogeechee Area Hospice 2022 Hospice Honors Elite

Ogeechee Area Hospice has been named a 2022 HOSPICE HOSPICE HONORS ELITE recipient.

Hospice Honors is a landmark compilation of hospices providing the best patient and caregiver experience. This prestigious annual review recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.

Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2020 through September 2021. In order to receive the award, hospices must be currently working with HEALTHCAREfirst and must have had at least one complete survey returned in each quarter of the evaluation period.

Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of twenty-four quality indicator measures. Individual hospice performance scores were aggregated from all surveys with a final survey status of complete for the evaluation period and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated from all hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst Hospice CAHPS database.

HEALTHCAREfirst holds a special recognition, Hospice Honors Elite, to honor hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst Performance Score on one hundred percent, or all twenty-four, of the evaluated questions.

Staff members of Ogeechee Area Hospice will receive the award at the NHPCO Leadership and Advocacy Conference.

The Hospice Honors program is a way of acknowledging hospice agencies that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to high quality patient care.
