As we have grown, we have listened to you and expanded coverage to areas that interest you most.
Obituaries and Events Calendar
Two ways we have recently expanded to meet your needs is the launching of our comprehensive obituary listings and our events calendar.
We have worked with the five local funeral homes to find a solution to sharing obituaries in one easy to access place. When a funeral home in Statesboro adds an obituary to their website, it automatically populates to Grice Connect. We now offer a comprehensive listing of daily obituaries at no cost to the families who have lost a loved one.
We have also soft launched a local, interactive events calendar which fills another popular request of our readers. Thanks to the support of the Averitt Center for the Arts and others who support Grice Connect financially, we were able to expand in this way.
You can now view local events by selecting the Events Calendar from the Grice Connect website menu. You can also submit your events to be included there as well.
We have a lot of additional ways in which we want to expand our coverage. However, to accomplish these goals we need more dedicated team members who share our community first vision.
Retired and Student Opportunities
We have some great opportunities for retired individuals who want to stay active in the community and who have some skill sets' that you feel will be helpful in helping us grow our coverage. Reporter/Stringer
Reporter/stringer writer to produce news and feature articles for Statesboro and Bulloch. Position covers a wide variety of beats, including city government, education, local lifestyles, police and courts. A degree in journalism or related field is preferred. Great part-time opportunity for journalism students as well.
Website Administrator
Ideally the successful candidate is proficient in Wordpress. Coding experience is preferred but not required. Solid writing skills as well. You will populate incoming news stories to the website, edit them and publish them on the website and schedule them on all Grice Connect social media platforms. Part Time with potential growth to full time. Flexible Hours.
Account Manager
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic self-starter to support our growing business and the publication of essential Grice Connect. The Account Manager will be responsible for pre-sale planning activities (strategic brainstorms, proposal generation, etc.), as well as post-sale activities such as trafficking ad creative, actively managing and optimizing campaigns, and providing insightful feedback and reporting to clients that will help to drive renewals. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to anticipate sales team needs and will be uber-responsive to client requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
