East Georgia State College (EGSC) is now accepting nominations for the first annual Alumni Recognition Program. Nominations are open until January 7, 2022.
The recognition program will be held at EGSC in the Spring of 2022.
Each year the college plans to honor distinguished alumni who embrace the values of EGSC. There are two categories of awards, and one winner is chosen from each category. The first award, the Rising Star Award, celebrates the achievements of alumni who have graduated in the past 10 years and who have notable recognition in their chosen field with a promise for continued success.
The second award, the Distinguished Alumni Award, celebrates the achievements of alumni who have graduated more than 10 years prior to the award year. The recipient will have excelled in their chosen field and have had a positive effect on the local, regional, state, or national level.
Individuals who have obtained a degree from Emanuel County Junior College, East Georgia College, or East Georgia State College are eligible to receive the awards. Individuals who have completed at least 60 hours of course work at the college prior to transfer to another college or university are also eligible for nomination.
Nominees for the awards may be submitted by other alumni, faculty, staff, and community members. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Current Alumni Board officers are not eligible and prior winners are not eligible for the award in the same category.
The EGSC Alumni Executive Board will collect the nominations for review. Eligible nominees will be notified to accept the nomination and all nominees are invited to the Spring Alumni Event. Award recipients will be announced at the event by the EGSC President and given their award.
To nominate someone for one of the awards, a completed nomination form should be filled out along with a list of how the person has contributed their talents, either as a rising star or a distinguished alumnus.
