Statesboro Police Captain Kaleb Moore condition is improving according to a statement released on the the departments Facebook page on Friday.

The statement reads:

"We want to respect Kaleb's privacy but there has been such a tremendous outpouring of support we want to try to keep everyone updated on his condition. We will plan a weekly update every Friday for a while so you all can track his progress. He was in surgery yesterday and his body tolerated it well. Today the hospital staff was able to get him into a recliner for part of the day. He requested that music be played in his room. If you know Kaleb on a personal level, you know that music is important to him! His wife is with him and she thanks everyone for all the well wishes!"

According to the post they will be releasing updates weekly on Friday regarding his condition.

Captain Kaleb Moore was injured on Wednesday, while riding a Statesboro Police motorcycle on routine patrol when he collided into the rear of a red Chrysler Van. The accident occured at the entrance of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department on Highway 301 North.

After the accident Mike Broadhead, Statesboro Police Chief released a statement saying that Captain Moore suffered multiple broken bones which would require a long recovery, but the injuries were not life threatening.

The accident interrupted traffic all over town as GSP officers investigated the scene and other officers blocked the roadways and escorted the ambulance to Savannah.
