Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Skip Alford announced the decision to relocate the chambers operations from downtown Statesboro in a letter to members today.

Effective March 1st the Chamber will be located in the new Bulloch Solutions office complex on Buckhead Drive.

The current Chamber building also housed the Development Authority of Bulloch County. The Development Authority relocated this month to office space inside Queensboro Bank on South Main Street.

The building, located at 102 South Main Street has been listed for sale for $595,000.

Here is the letter to the Chamber membership:

To our Chamber family,

As President & CEO, I’d like to formally announce that we’re relocating chamber operations from our longtime home on south Main Street to a new location that will afford us the facilities, technology, and support we need to remain relevant, efficient, and effective as the “Voice of Business” for Statesboro, and for Bulloch County!  While the move is quite bittersweet, and presents an occasion where nostalgic reflection is both warranted and most appropriate, I and the Chamber Board of Directors feel that our new setting at 841 Buckhead Drive will give us a stronger platform to plan, develop, and implement initiatives that will promote our chamber partner businesses in the best possible fashion.

With this being said, the current chamber office building is officially up for sale and is registered on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). As we prepare to transfer our resources to our future home on or about March 1st of this year, normal chamber office hours will remain the same, as will daily procedures and processes needed to keep our chamber actively informed and energized. Select chamber events such as Lunch & Learns, Chamber Rising, and periodic Power Luncheons are already being scheduled and will be not affected by our upcoming move.

As I mentioned earlier in this letter, moving from this iconic location is poignant and deserving of genuine reflection and respect for all the years of amazing business that occurred within its walls. Within its confines, young men and women got their start in becoming the business leaders you see today. Under its roof, decisions were made that put Statesboro businesses on the path to success! As your chamber team, it is our intent to not only continue on this amazing journey with all of you, but in doing so, fully utilize the state-of-the-art resources waiting for us at our new home. Without question, this move will give us the capability and means to deliver the best service possible in support of your business growth, and also help us utilize your chamber investment wisely and more effectively!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank every past Chairman of the Board for the diligent effort they made in securing this wonderful dwelling which has hosted years of remarkable business leadership, and each and every one of you for the steadfast support you’ve given this chamber, especially during this past year. Always keep in mind that this is your chamber, your organization, your business family. It deserves the best we can give it!

With great sincerity,

Skip Alford
