Three Seriously Burned in Brooklet House Fire Sunday Morning: VIDEO

Around 9:30 am Sunday morning, January 3, 2021, Bulloch and Statesboro Fire departments responded to a Brooklet house fire on Precious Circle. The first units on the scene reported that the home was fully involved and there were people inside.

Around 9:30 am Sunday morning, January 3, 2021, Bulloch and Statesboro Fire departments responded to a Brooklet house fire on Precious Circle. The first units on the scene reported that the home was fully involved and there were people inside.

According to family members there were five people in side the home including homeowner Cynthia Clark and Jessie Morgan who lived in the home. Clark and Morgan were not injured in the fire but three men were burned, all are believed to be severe burns. The three men's names have not been released at the time of this story.

Bulloch County EMS responded with three ambulances and requested three helicopters to respond to the scene to transport victims to burn centers.

Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies along with the Brooklet Police Department set up a landing zone for the three helicopters. Two Air Evac helicopters and Lifestar from Savannah responded to a staging area in a field behind Dollar General off of Highway 80 on Rail Road Street.

Grice Connect live streamed from the scene of the Brooklet house fire after talking to family members on the scene to ensure close family had been contacted.

SFD CARES AND RED CROSS RESPONDED

The home was a total loss. Bill Taylor and Larry Jones with the Statesboro Fire Department CAFE unit also responded. Jones in addition to being a CAFE member is also leads the the American Red Cross disaster service team (DAT) for Bulloch county. They are working to assist the family along with Chris Yaughn of Fostering Bulloch's Hope Chest.

Firefighters are not sure of the cause of the fire but believe it was an electrical issue in the rear of the three bedroom home. They will be conducting their standard cause and origin investigation.
