Jessica Mock Named 2020 OTC Outstanding Alumni

Jessica Mock, owner and founder of Southern Sugaring (2015) and Proper Scandal (2019) in Savannah, was recently named Ogeechee Technical College’s 2020 Outstanding Alumni winner.

Mock, a licensed Esthetician, earned her Esthetician degree from Ogeechee Tech in 2011. She has since earned additional certifications as a Body Sugaring practitioner, Certified Sugaring Educator, Permanent Cosmetic Artist, and Barbicide Certification. Jessica earned her sugaring certification through Tamara’s Sugar in 2011, and has since become Georgia’s educator for the company, certifying licensed professionals from around the US in the art of body sugaring.

As founding member of the Savannah Influencers, a diverse group of women who harness social influence to positively impact one another and the community, Jessica Mock is actively involved in the organizing of fashion shows benefiting the Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center and SAFE shelter.

“Jessica is a pioneer in the esthetics space,” said her nominator. “She has created an outstanding brand and is a visionary with a hustle and work ethic that makes her unstoppable. She values the ability to mentor the next generation and show the potential of successful careers in esthetics.”

A native of Screven County, Mock is married, and mother to daughter Jameson.

Each year the Outstanding Alumni award is presented to an Ogeechee Tech alumni who graduated within the last ten years, is making outstanding contributions and excelling in their chosen fields, who is giving back to their community, and is dedicated to the advancement of the College.
