Ogeechee Technical College’s Director for Campus Safety/Chief of Police, Ryan McNeal, was recently named to the Statesboro Police Officers’ Foundation (SPOF) Board of Directors.

SPOF, formed in 2015, is a non-profit organization founded to serve the men and women of the Statesboro Police Department. The organization serves to provide additional resources to officers, their families, and the department through fundraising and events.

“Ryan brings years of law enforcement experience to our Foundation and has proven himself as a community servant,” said current SPOF Board President, Nick Propps. “He will be essential to help us carry out our mission to serve our Officers and the Department.”

Ryan McNeal, who was sworn in as Police Chief at Ogeechee Tech in August 2019, began his law enforcement career with the City of Statesboro’s Police Department in 2002 and is looking forward to the opportunity to serve on the foundation. He has a long record of serving the Statesboro community and is a member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and the Statesboro Rotary Club.

“I’m honored to be able to serve as a member of the Officers’ Foundation Board of Directors,” said McNeal. “This is a wonderful opportunity to give Ogeechee Tech additional presence in community programs while also strengthening our bond with local law enforcement.”

McNeal will be joining other community leaders on the Statesboro Police Officers’ Foundation board, including Brannen Smith, Dirk Totten, Rachel Edwards, Trish Tootle, Lindsey Martin, Tracy Hendrix, Charles Sikes, Bill Norton, and Jeff Klare.
