Newly named Tropical Storm Isais is near Puerto Rico moving toward Hispaniola.  Based on the NWS 5 PM report today it appears the storm will not impact Bulloch County or the Coast of Georgia significantly.

Here is Patrick Prokop’s summary taken from his Weather and Nature website.

Patrick has a great way of breaking weather events down in understandable ways.

The future strength and path of Tropical Storm Isais will be dictated over the next several hours as it moves over the mountainous large island nation.

If the storm moves a bit further northward of the island, its circulation will stay intact resulting in a stronger storm which would be more likely to stay to our east.

If it goes over the island, the rugged terrain will disrupt the circulation causing a weaker storm which will probably result in a further westward track.

It appears that the center of the storm will pass to our east on Monday with very little ill-effects for our area other than strong rip currents and swells along the beaches.

Non-the-Less, keep an eye on this storm.
