Deborah and Roy Thompson, owners of TMT Farms on the north edge of Bulloch County, are known for their incredible Christmas light drive through display.  They open their farm up every year and decorate over two miles of their property with Christmas lights.  They invite everyone to come and in lieu of admissions, they accept non-perishable food items and cash contributions that they give to the local food banks.  TMT Farms collects enough food during each annual event to help supply the food banks for nearly the entire year.

Because of COVID-19, the food banks have seen their inventory depleted and are in need of more food and resources to help keep up.  The Thompson’s decided to do their part in decorating part of their farm early and open up a mini “Christmas in July” light show.  They also know the community needs a way to lift their spirits.  The drive-through is a COVID-19 safe family outing.

Christmas in July Mini Light Show Opened Tonight

The light show opened tonight, Monday, July 6th at 6 PM and will continue operating through Sunday, July 12th.  Volunteers will be on hand to accept donations until 1 AM each evening.

The Thompson’s want you to know that this event will not be the magnitude that you see at Christmas but it will still be awesome.  Make sure you tune your car radio to 88.1 FM to listen to Christmas music.  Several of the stops will be synchronized to the Christmas music.

“Calling all you Christmas lovers! We know it is hot outside, but our county, and surrounding counties, need some assistance. Food Banks are almost depleted and there are many people needing a hand up during this time. People were asking if we would turn the lights on so they could come have a little Christmas cheer, said Roy Thompson.  “So come on out and enjoy the show and help a great cause.  Even if you do not like Christmas or lights, you can still come and contribute.  We look forward to seeing everyone this week.  TOGETHER WE CAN HELP!!!”
