Free Face Mask Given Away Throughout the County

The “Squash the Spread” citizen movement, together with the City of Statesboro, Bulloch County, and Bulloch County Emergency Management are distributing face masks free throughout Bulloch County to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

On Tuesday, “Squash the Spread” volunteers gave away FREE face mask at the Luetta More building on MLK, Jr. drive.  They will be doing this again tomorrow, July 16th from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Bulloch County Public Safety Director, Ted Wynn has also distributed mask to Brooklet, Portal and Register City Halls.  Citizens will be able to get free masks at these locations while supplies last. The distribution of the face masks is part of an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Bulloch County, which is currently categorized as being in a state of “substantial spread” according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Hanes Company Donates Mask

The cloth face masks, provided by the Hanes Company to the State of Georgia for distribution through local Emergency Management Agencies, were distributed at four local businesses: Together with practicing social distancing and frequent hand washing, wearing cloth face masks is an effective method of slowing the spread of the virus.

This Saturday, volunteers will be distribution free facemask to neighborhoods throughout the city.

Squashing the Spread Bulloch County is a volunteer organization, formed by concerned citizens of Statesboro-Bulloch County.
