East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro has revised their visitation policy to increase visitor restrictions. This new policy began on Monday, April 27.
Due to ongoing concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19), East Georgia Regional Medical Center has implemented further visitor restrictions to ensure the health and safety of their patients, their families and their staff.
East Georgia Regional Medical Center visitors are no longer allowed.
Exceptions:
- Maternity/Women’s Pavilion patients: One (1) support person may accompany the patient
- “End of life” situations
- Individuals with a significant disability are limited to one (1) support person
- Pediatric/Minor patients (< 18 years old) may have one (1) visitor but this is limited to only parents or guardians
- No visitors for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases
Screening upon Entry
- All visitors to hospital will be screened for symptoms and travel or exposure history
- Visitors will be asked to not enter the facility if they have had symptoms in the past 24 hours or exposures in the last 14 days.
EGRMC would like to thank everyone for their cooperation as they work to protect the health and safety of their patients, staff and visitors.
According to Bulloch County Public Safety Director, Ted Wynn there is currently only one COVID-19 patient hospitalized at EGRMC at this time.
Thirty four Bulloch county residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and two have died.
