“Life Done Right” was a 2008 play which told the story of legendary Coach Erk Russell bringing football back to Statesboro and Georgia Southern University.

The play was researched through an oral history grant by Georgia Southern University Professor, Dr. Rebecca Kennerly. Dr. Kennerly directed and wrote the play based on the oral history. It was cast by local citizens, most of whom knew Erk and the people they were cast to play personally.  Our DeWayne Grice played the role of the now retired pastor of First Baptist Church, Dr. Bill Perry.

“Life Done Right” was performed in 2008 at the Emma Kelly Theater which is part of the Averitt Center for the Arts.

It is a must see for anyone who wants to make Statesboro home for a minute or for life.

This vintage video is from 2008, so the quality is not the best.  It is included in four segments.

Enjoy!
