These are important updates from Bulloch County Schools

Schools Closed at least through April 10
Bulloch County Schools will observe its scheduled spring break April 6-10. These dates will not be used as make up days for missed school days. Because national and state information about the coronavirus changes daily, we are unable to make decisions about when school will resume or if and when these days will be made up.

Free Breakfast & Lunch for Children
Bulloch County Schools will continue to deliver bags of free meals to children while we are closed. Meal service will continue through at least April 10, to 34 locations on weekdays (Monday – Friday). We are adding sites daily based on need, so check our website and social media for a current list of sites.

The program provides free grab and go breakfast and lunch meals to any child ages 0 to 18. No registration, sign-in, or identification is required, and the children do not have to be enrolled in one of our schools. Children must be present to receive meals. Look for a Bulloch County Schools’ bus at each delivery location to receive meals.

Digital & Print Resources
Due to school closures, it is our intent to provide resources that will keep children engaged and actively learning. We have digital resources and printed resource packets for grades K-8. High school teachers are emailing their students digital resources. High school students in need of printed packets should contact their school to make arrangements for packets to be sent to them or to pick up packets.  No teachers will make assignments that are required or for a grade.

See our digital resources newsletter here.

Printed Resource Packets
While schools are closed we will place printed resource packets in the following areas each Monday and Tuesday beginning on March 23:

  • At the front door of each elementary school
  • At the front door of each middle school
  • At the front door of the Central Office on
  • At our free food sites on Mondays and Tuesdays during the designated feeding sites’ times.

Pre-Kindergarten Lottery Drawings
Our previously scheduled Pre-Kindergarten Lottery Drawings have been cancelled due to public health concerns with the coronavirus. Instead all drawings will be conducted on Thursday, March 26, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the district’s Central Office. The lotteries will not be open to the public. We will live stream them on our website and post a video archive there as well.

If you registered a child for pre-kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, you will receive additional information prior to the lottery drawings, so please monitor the email and telephone you used for registration.

We appreciate your patience as we work to continue to serve all students.. We encourage you to make safe and healthy choices.
