This Sunday, February 23rd, in honor of Janet Swanson’s upcoming 50th birthday, Crossroads Community Church family is coming together to host a community-wide celebration at their 9 am and 11 am services.

No matter if you have a church home or even if you have never actually met her in person, they are opening their doors for the entire community to join them in celebrating Janet’s incredible work for the abused, broken and hopeless.  Janet is transparent and authentic in sharing her personal story irrespective of the venue. She is gifted in sharing candidly and discreetly with the hope of preventing child abuse and suicide. She connects genuinely with the victims of abuse.

Janet is an ordained minister, teacher, missionary, entrepreneur, author, singer, artist, composer, speaker, student, encourager, hope dealer, overcomer, advocate for the abused, dream-builder, and a life-giver.

She transmits peace and healing through her faith and works with teachers, counselors and community leaders in public and private schools, universities, civic clubs and churches.

Janet works tirelessly to bring healing and hope to the hurting in our community. Her efforts include “Near to the Broken”, two books: “One Voice” and “A Throne Room View” and numerous social media outlets.

In addition, she serves as Worship Pastor with Cary, her husband, who is the Senior Pastor at CrossRoads Community Church in Statesboro. She connects with the community through various civic clubs, especially the Exchange Club with their child abuse projects.

She works transculturally, especially with the Spanish-speaking community for which she has a special fondness. She is fluent in Spanish and delights to serve as a translator in the community and enjoys international missionary service, especially in Spanish-speaking countries.

Also, she fosters the campaign, “One Voice Makes a Difference” #tellsomebody and generously distributes copies of her book and T-shirts to students or youth groups who hear her story.

Janet married Cary Swanson in 1989. Of all of their achievements, none rivals their dedication and investment in their three sons, Reed, Rhett and Ryan. The Gospel is exemplified in their family in such a wonderful way, it is considered by many as their paramount accomplishment.

“The greatest, most transformational prayer that God answered for me was when he brought my wife Janet into my world. Since she gave it all to God, not only have our lives been transformed, but also countless others have been impacted. Almost daily someone shares a story, often a stranger, of how Janet’s story and her ministry has been the life jacket they needed exactly at the perfect time”, said Cary Swanson, Janet’s Husband and Senior Pastor at Crossroads.

“I am reaching out to you in this way, because I know many of you have been touched by Janet’s, music, messages, books, inspired by her unconditional love or touched by her unwavering faith, so please join us in honoring, encouraging and thanking her. I am personally inviting YOU to be our honored guest in one or both services, at 9 AM or 11 AM. We will be serving Janet’s favorite cupcakes to all who attend”.

Janet’s prayer for you is, “…that God, who gives peace, will make you completely whole (put together). And may your spirit, soul and body be kept healthy and faultless until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.”  I Thessalonians 5:23
