Downtown Statesboro Holiday Celebration Friday, December 6th

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority will be hosting its annual Holiday Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free F1RST Friday event is sure to provide an enchanting evening for the entire community to enjoy.

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority will be hosting its annual Holiday Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This free F1RST Friday event is sure to provide an enchanting evening for the entire community to enjoy.

Featuring the Statesboro Gas Department and Visit Statesboro chili cook-off contest, live music, shopping, the Synovus Train Ride, a Christmas parade and so much more, there will be no shortage of holiday cheer for this community celebration.

In the mood to show off your culinary talents? Join us for the highly anticipated chili cook-off in Chili Town. There are four categories that participants can compete in, including the overall best chili, best restaurant chili, people’s choice and the best decorated booth.

Not a master chef but still want to be in on the fun? No worries, admission to Chili Town is free and open to all Holiday Celebration attendees! If you are interested in voting in the People’s Choice category, tickets will be available for $1(proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County.

Don’t forget to swing by our photo booth to snap a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus throughout the duration of the event. Santa & the Mrs. will be in the Emma Kelly Theater lobby. The Averitt will also have their annual all Fired Up Exhibition and sale. They will have lots of ceramics, jewelry and fine art.

Musical ensembles from various groups including the, Christmas carols from First Baptist Church, Crumbs Ministries,  Francis Johnson, the Averitt Center, Dancers Edge, and Cotton Rose School of Dance will be performing throughout the evening on the courthouse stage.

The golf cart Christmas parade will begin at 5:30 on East Main St. Decorative floats and unique vehicles are sure to keep the whole family entertained while spreading the spirit of the holiday season.

If chili, the parade and pictures with Santa just aren’t doing the job, the Party Harbor bounce house and the Synovus Train Ride will keep even the youngest of our Holiday Celebration crowd entertained.
