For the ninth year in a row Bulloch County showed up in remarkable ways for Safe Haven Domestic Violence Shelter on Thursday night.
The 2019 Dancing with the Statesboro Stars raised over $200,000 to support Safe Haven.
Twelve couples spent months rehearsing and holding fundraisers to help the shelter, which serves victims in Bulloch and surrounding counties.
This event raises critical funds for the operation of the shelter and the domestic violence program. It also raises awareness in the community about this wonderful resource.
The couples spent countless hours of choreographing, learning and training to perform at the event. The twelve couples each worked hard throughout the year to raise money to support the event and Safe Haven. They hosted countless fundraisers and events which many of you supported.
Our community owes each couple who participated in this years Dancing with the Statesboro Star’s event a great debt of gratitude. In addition, special thanks are in order for Coldwell Banker Tanner Realty and all of the corporate sponsors of the event.
If you missed the event on Thursday, they are hosting an encore presentation on Sunday, October 6 at 3 PM at the Georgia Southern Performing Arts Center.
There are tickets available for the show on Sunday.
