Early Voting has Started for Statesboro, Register and Brooklet

Early voting has started for the City of Statesboro City Council Districts, 2, 3 and 5, the Town of Register and the City of Brooklet and will continue through Friday, November 1st.

Early voting has started for the City of Statesboro City Council Districts, 2, 3 and 5, the Town of Register and the City of Brooklet and will continue through Friday, November 1st.

Bulloch County Election Supervisor Pat Jones has been contracted by the City of Statesboro and the Town of Register to conduct their elections.  The City of Brooklet is conducting their elections in house.  The information in this story only has information for the City of Statesboro and the Town of Register.  Click here for information for the City of Brooklet.

City of Statesboro:

District 2 incumbent is Sam Jones and he is being opposed by Paulette Chavers.

District 3 incumbent is Jeff Yawn and he is being opposed by Venus Mack.

District 5 incumbent is Derek Duke and he is being opposed by Shari Barr.

Town of Register:

Seat 3 incumbent is Tanya Boyd and she is being opposed by Shannan Grubbs

Seat 4 (no incumbent) William Ingram and Alfred Jones are running for seat 4

Seat 5 incumbent Ann Ross is running unopposed

If your voter registration is within the city limits of Statesboro and in City Council Districts 2, 3, and 5, you are eligible to vote.
If your voter registration is within the city limits of the Town of Register, you are eligible to vote.

There are three ways to vote if you live in one of these three Statesboro City Districts or the Town of Register:

❖ EARLY/ADVANCE VOTING

Early and advanced voting is in person, no excuse voting.  Early voting began on October 14 th and will continue to Friday, November 1st from 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. at the BULLOCH COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS & REGISTRATION, located inside the Bulloch County Annex Building at 113 North Main Street, Ste 201.

Go to the My Voter Page and you can check to see what city district you live in.  Once you click on this link it will take you to the MVP site where you will simply enter your first initial, last name, county and date of birth on the site to locate your information.

There will be NO SATURDAY VOTING

❖ MAIL-OUT ABSENTEE BALLOT

A voter can complete an Application for an Absentee Ballot for their Municipal election if eligible. Once they receive your application, they can mail your ballot to the address requested if outside of Bulloch County or to the address where you are currently registered to vote in the county (or alternate address for physically disabled voter).
They will mail absentee ballots from October 14th to November 1st.

There is no voting on Monday, November 4th

On election day you will vote at one of three city precinct or in the Town of Register on Tuesday, November 5th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Statesboro District 3:  Pittman Park Church, 1102 Fair Road

Statesboro District 5: Pittman Park Church, 1102 Fair Road

✓ check to see if you’re registered to vote
✓ get directions to your polling place
✓ get an absentee application form
✓ get the times/location of early & advanced voting

BRING YOUR PHOTO ID WHEN VOTING

ID is required when voting……
– A GEORGIA DRIVER’S LICENSE; or
– Valid identification card “picture” issued by a branch,
department, agency or entity of the State of Georgia,
another state; or
– Valid United States passport; or
– Valid employee identification card containing a
photograph of and issued by any branch, department,
agency or entity of the United States government, this
state, or any county, municipality board, authority, or
– Other entity of this state; or valid US military
identification card with photograph; or
– Valid tribal identification card with photograph

REGISTER TO VOTE

If you have not already registered to vote it is to late to register for this election.  However, go ahead and register today so you will be eligible to vote in future election.
