This year marks the tenth year that the Ogeechee Area Hospice board members, staff and volunteers came together to support OAH’s Community Chicken Dinner fundraiser.  The annual event helps raise critical funds to support OAH mission and raise recognition in the community for the vital role OAH serves.  With the continuing financial challenges facing OAH this years event was more important than ever.

As expected, our community responds when there is an important need such as this.  Your support for OAH is no exception.  This year’s event was coordinated by Tinker Lanier and  they broke the previous years sales record by 400 plates totaling 2,600 chicken dinners sold.

All of the proceeds benefit Ogeechee Area Hospice’ our community supported, non-profit hospice.

Teams of volunteer cooks led by Tod Hutchens got an early start Friday morning grilling thousands of chickens for the fund raiser.  Organizing, cooking, packaging and distributing the plates was a monumental task.

“None of this would be possible without all of the wonderful volunteers and the great communities like Bulloch, Screven, Candler, and Evans”, said Tinker Lanier with OAH.  “Thank you to everyone that has supported Ogeechee Area Hospice.”

If you missed purchasing a chicken dinner you can still contribute to Ogeechee Area Hospice by contacting Tinker Lanier at 912-764-8441 or by mailing a contribution to Ogeechee Area Hospice at P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA  30458.
